Phuket, 24 July 2018 – Thailand has positioned itself as the world’s most favourite destination amid the forthcoming Thailand Golf Travel Mart (TGTM) 2018 at Duangjitt Resort and Spa in Patong, Phuket during 23-26 July 2018.
The event including golf tour operators and buyers from key international markets is organised by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) with the aim of meeting with world’s top named golf equipment suppliers and golf course owners from around the world.
Not only in South East Asia but among the foreign travellers as well, Thai cuisines has won the hearts. And the connection between the Golf and food aficionados is ages old. The promotion has also promoted gastronomical Golf feast after Thailand’s first Michelin Bangkok Guide. Thailand is expecting to launch another huge event in Phuket and Phang-Nga this year.
The TAT Deputy Governor for Marketing Communications, Mr Tanes Petsuwan said, “Thailand excels at delivering a complete golf experience. Not only the diversity of courses and standardised amenities but also unique local experiences make Thailand competitive on both a regional and global level.”
“The TGTM 2018 will strengthen the country’s position as the world’s leading golf destination. This will also enhance a new image of Phuket as a rising golf destination as well as the global sports destination. In fact, Phuket has long catered to an extensive range of sporting experiences; such as surfing, marathon, triathlon, cycling, and so on, along with hosted various domestic and international competitions.”
Major Concerns During The TGTM
At the Golf trade festival this time, the issue of maintainability and condition effect have additionally been concerned for further action. The organisers are concerned about the derogatory causes of plastic use and thus, encouraging the delegates to bring or use a tumbler instead of plastic cups, glasses and containers to help nature grow.
Thailand Tourism golf industry has emerged to bring a huge revenue to the country. The Thai Tourism Industry has boasted 4,00,000 golfers to tee off in Thailand in 2016 and ended up generating revenue of 4.88 billion Baht. The spending on golf is ranked as the highest grossing activity in Thailand.
In TGTM 2018, more than 128 buyers have registered from around 30 countries with the majority from Asia and ASEAN region (62 and 35 buyers respectively). The inter-regional golf markets in Thailand is equally strong that help to develop the reputation and world-class golf experience.
From Europe and the USA, the industry is expecting 27 buyers to attend the event. The leading online golf reservation platform, Golfreserv has also marked its presence in TGTM. A group of 111 local sellers will be represented by Thai golf courses, hotels, tour operators and travel agents. They have been expected to promote and sell their products and services in TGTM.
The TGTM 2018 has also invited 41 media representatives from overseas to cover this prestigious event.
